"We are born to Move."

It sounds so simple, but yet all too often our lifestyles become more and more sedentary. Ever since I was young, I always seem to be moving about. And as time went on, I found myself seeking to move not just myself but others as well.

This manifested in the activities I joined and organized that is for a greater purpose such as: Joining an unusual charity event that seeks to raise awareness on Children with congenital heart disease while also attempting to set a world record for the longest football match in the world called the FM101 Kick for Life.

Other activities include: promoting/organizing rock climbing, outdoorsy activities that also benefit local community tourism, nature & environment and also their livelihood. Even the career I have now enables me to keep on moving as a facilitator of an Adventure Camp!

Such activities give me a thrill of exercise, meeting new people, connecting with them, their hobbies or passion as well as knowing their stories.

This sort of "daring-to-move" or "keep moving attitude", has somewhat become my passion. I think many people misinterpret passion, to me it is something that we are willing to sacrifice for, something that we want to keep doing as often and as long as we can despite the difficulties. If you search for the (etymology) origin-of-the-word "passion", it means suffering.

All this made me realize that these passionate people dared to move, to act on their interest and continued to pursue their dreams despite all the challenges and dictates of society.

“A sound mind in a sound body, is a short, but full description of a happy state in this world: he that has these two, has little more to wish for.” - John Locke

Let us all dare to move!!

Modern scientific studies have also confirmed this timeless wisdom of 'movement'. What's good for your body is good for your mind, and what's good for your heart (cardiovascular system) is good for your brain (cerebrovascular health).

What do you think of this good advice?
