Katsudon @ Teriyaki Boy

Katsudon!
I have always heard that the Katsudon is a popular Japanese food, but it is only now that I was able to really taste it since I am also fond of the BENTO and that is most likely the thing I'd order. A KATSUDON is a bowl of rice which is usually topped with a deep-fried pork cutlet, egg, and condiments.

I was treated to a meal to 'persons-who-shall-not-be-named' in the Ayala Center Cebu - The Terraces branch of Teriyaki Boy, but let's just say that one is a blogger and the other is a digital marketing specialist? hehehgh.. The katsudon I had contained the following toppings: Breaded Pork cutlet, deep-fried and simmered in sweet soy sauce, onions and leeks, beaten egg, topped on a bed of steamed rice which would require you a budget of Php250.00 +/- including my Mango Shake as my beverage.

Katsudon Variations include sauce katsudon (with Worcestershire sauce), demi katsudon (with demi-glace and often green peas, a specialty of Okayama), shio katsudon (with salt, another Okayama variety), shōyu-dare katsudon (with soy sauce, Niigata style), and miso katsudon (a favorite in Nagoya). Beef and chicken can substitute for the pork.

If you haven't tried a katsudon, I suggest you do!
