Isla Sugbu Seafood City has a unique offering of fresh seafood called Paluto-All-You-Can! "Paluto" means, to have someone else cook for you. Of course, since it is seafood we are talking about, it also means that you handpick from an abundance of seafood creatures both fresh from the sea and those inside the water tanks!

Not only is the seafood fresh, but it is also cooked on the spot after selection. You can consider Isla Sugbu Seafood City as a premium restaurant serving Sutukil. "Sutukil" is a Visayan culinary term pertaining to a set of seafood-based dishes cooked in three different ways, to grill (sugba), stew (tuwa) or just eat raw (kilaw).

Isla Sugbu Seafood City also has premium seafood that are charged for separately such as Lobster, King Crab to name a few and whose price is not fixed (Due to Supply-Demand or Seasonal changes).

This is the Four-step process of Paluto-all-you-can!

The Paluto-All-You-Can process 


The Paluto consists of four steps: CHOOSE, COOK, EAT, and REPEAT!

  1. The first step after sitting down in your chosen table is to proceed to their "Market" area where all the frsh seafood choices are. Then you choose from all the available seafood (fresh and live fish, mollusks, seaweed, crustaceans, and more!). Some choices, of course, are subject to availability for certain types of seafood and also the occasional meat choices as well (chicken and pork belly, but meat choices are limited since Sutukil is synonymous to seafood).
  2. Second is cooking! However, Isla Sugbu Seafood City takes it a step further by allowing you to choose the way you want your chosen seafood to be cooked! Be it grilled, steamed, stewed, sauteed, fried, and/or even raw!
  3. Next is the best and most-awaited part. Eating! (Reminder: No leftovers allowed!!)
  4. The last step is basically just repeating the whole process to your heart and stomach’s content. 


When selecting, don't forget to ask help from the guides when you need suggestions on what kinds of seafood to try! They’re very nice and knowledgeable.

What I like about Isla Sugbu Seafood City

The high ceiling, well-lit and simple interior designed area was a big plus for me (compared to the normal Sutukil experience). The “Market” area inside Isla Sugbu Seafood City is something like a buffet but at the same time not-like-a-buffet. Add to that the open kitchen separated by a huge glass panel where you can watch their cooks and chefs in action as they cook your chosen food.

Definitely the best place for first-time Sutukillers whether if you are a local or foreign tourist. This is definitely an innovative twist to the Visayan Sutukil culture and tradition!
