Recent raid in Cebu confiscated almost 50 illegally-refilled LPGs

A total of 47 illegally-refilled Solane LPG cylinders were seized in Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, and Cebu City after a series of raids were conducted in the region recently. The confiscated tanks amounted to about PHP106,000.

On November 19 at around 11 AM, nine Solane cylinders were captured from suspects at large in Brgy. Apas, Cebu City. Five of which were illegally refilled, while four were emptied Solane cylinders.

Following this, three separate raids in barangays Umapad and Banilad in Mandaue city, and Barangay Basak in Lapu-Lapu were conducted on November 21, confiscating 38 more illegally-refilled cylinders
and traded in these areas. Seven illegally-refilled 11-kilogram Solane cylinders were captured from suspect Benzon Rafanan in Barangay Banilad, Mandaue City.

Twenty-nine Solane LPG tanks were seized from Cerilo Irunia in Barangay Basak Lapu-Lapu, 27 of which were illegally-filled cylinders and two were empty Solane tanks. Two illegally-filled 11-kilogram Solane tanks were confiscated from Jumar Arcilla in Brgy. Umapad Mandaue.

Verified Solane LPGs have verified seals

Because of this, leading LPG brand Solane strengthens its call to LPG consumers in Cebu to only buy their LPGs from authorized sellers in the region.

Furthermore, Solane warns consumers of the possible risks of purchasing from sketchy locations and
nameless traders as these suppliers might be trading dilapidated tanks that are prone to leakages that
may lead to gas explosion, poisoning, and massive fire incidents.

Amid the government and the industry’s effort to put a stop to the unlawful trade and distribution of
LPGs, Solane strongly encourages consumers to always be vigilant against fake LPG retailers, to
altogether help cut the demand and supply of counterfeit LPGs in the country.

One may locate authorized Solane stores or order verified Solane products by sending a text to 0918-887-5555 or through Solane Facebook page’s chatbot (https://www.facebook.com/solane.ph).

The company reiterates that only these branded stores are guaranteed to supply verified LPG products and would, at the same time, assure consumers of the safety and quality of each of its cylinders.
