Civic-Military Independence Day Parade in Cebu

There will be Civic-Military Parade on Independence Day Cebu on Saturday. The Cebu City Historical Affairs Commission (Chac) coordinated with the different line agencies, schools and the military and police units to send their representatives for the Civic-Military Parade for Independence Day in Cebu.

The regular non-working holiday was moved to June 14, hence no classes in all levels on Monday and all government offices were encouraged to commemorate Independence Day on Saturday. Chac is also organizing a holy mass at City Hall at 7:30 a.m., which will be followed by a formal flag ceremony.

Participants of the parade will converge at the junction of Gorordo Ave.-General Maxilom Ave. before proceeding to the Cebu City Sports Center. Parts of Gorordo Avenue, General Maxilom Avenue, Osmena Boulevard and the Fuente-Osmena circle will be closed to vehicular traffic starting 2:30 p.m.

From 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., the corner of Archbishop Reyes Ave. to Gen. Maxilom Ave. will be closed to traffic, as well as the stretch of M.J. Cuenco Ave. to Fuente-Osmeña circle and the right side of Osmeña Blvd. going to downtown Cebu City, particularly from Fuente Osmena to P. del Rosario St.
