2nd Leaders of Change Summit Lessons

RAFI, ADDU, Brokenshire and partners just recently held the 2nd Leaders of Change Forum for the public last November 23, 2010 at the Ateneo de Davao University, Roxas Avenue, Davao City.


The Forum provided sessions on leadership, innovation, teamwork, team play and engaging the successor generation, bringing about awareness and inspiration from applied principles and approaches and paving the way for collaboration in future initiatives between the laureates and the different stakeholders in Mindanao.

The RAFI Triennial Awards 2nd Leaders of Change Forum is part of the RAFI Triennials Public Exposure and post awards engagement program that provides a venue for the RAFI Triennial Awards laureates to share their inspiring stories and works through public fora, conferences and learning visits.


RAFI Triennial Awards Laureates from the Visayas and Mindanao also joined the forum, which tackled topics on valuing teamwork, and the like. The RAFI Triennial Awards is the premier service and humanitarian award in the Visayas and Mindanao that recognize philanthropic, humanitarian, and holistic efforts of individuals and institutions in enhancing the quality of life of various groups and communities.

• Multiple Perspectives since they have different areas of engagement (Health, Governance, Environment, Social Welfare, Education and the like)
• Being a Participant-Organizer/s, I learned a thing or 2 in event organizing and partnerships =)
• Experiential Education and Immersion are really awesome! I'm becoming an Advocate :P
• Being conscious of the factors and situations are important at every given time
• Being sincere and passionate in what you do always gets you out of problems and challenges
• Work hard, but also rest, relax, replenish and revive yourself every now and then

About the Triennial Awards:

The RAFI Triennial Awards was created in 1996 to give recognition to individuals and institutions in the Visayas and Mindanao who make significant contributions to social development. Beyond the recognition, RAFI believes that the work of the finalists and awardees should be documented and their inspiring stories continuously shared. Hence, RAFI initiated the RAFI Triennials Public Exposure and post awards engagement program, including the RAFI Triennial Awards 2nd Leaders of Change Forum.

The forum was organized in partnership with the Ateneo de Davao university through its Political Science and History Program under the Social Sciences and Education Division and the School of Arts and Sciences; Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral ng Aggham Pulitika ng Ateneo; Brokenshire Integrated Health Ministries Inc.; Institute of Primary Health Care; and Davao Light and Power Co..
