Biggest Happy Jobs Fair in Cebu!

Cebu's biggest annual job fair, the Mynimo.com Happy Jobs Fair, will be offering over 20,000 job opportunities when it opens its doors on Saturday, May 25. Thousands of job seekers, from fresh graduates to experienced managers, are expected to flock to the event at the IEC Convention Center in Mabolo, Cebu City, to find employment and better career opportunities.

Now on its sixth year, the organizers have already signed up 100 companies, with more still expected to join as the event date draws closer. "We are very excited to hold the event for the first time in Cebu's largest convention center. The spacious venue has allowed us to accommodate more employers than ever before, and what's great is that there's still room for more," said Wesley Chiongbian, CEO of Mynimo.com. 

"The venue is also very accessible to public transportation, allowing most job seekers to take just one jeepney ride to the venue from around the city," Chiongbian added.

The organizers indicated that 77% of the jobs at the event are for business expansion, while 23% are to address employee turnover.

Local and overseas opportunities will be available at the event. Vacancies for local employment are in retail, manufacturing, tourism, education, information technology, logistics, construction, real estate, business process outsourcing, and healthcare, among others, while overseas vacancies are expected to be in the food & beverage, manufacturing, and medical industries.

Medium and large business compromise 67% of the participating companies, while 33% are from the small and micro business sectors.

The organizers also identified a total of 2,320 opportunities available for people with disabilities (PWDs). Among these are 1,800 jobs for applicants who are physically impaired and 520 for speech and hearing impaired candidates. Opportunities for PWDs are as follows, restaurant, retail, IT and BPO companies. There will be designated lanes to help ensure that PWDs will be given priority at the event.

The Mynimo.com Happy Jobs Fair is organized with the support of government institutions such as the Cebu City Government, Cebu Provincial Government, the Department of Labor and Employment, and the Philippines Overseas Employment Administration, and Civic Organizations such as the Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente and the Sacred Heart School - Ateneo de Cebu Batch 1994. "We reached out to these organizations to assist us in spreading the word to as many job seekers as possible. This will help us fill the record number of vacancies that we will have at the upcoming Happy Jobs Fair," said Chiongbian.

Aside from the registering directly at the venue, the job fair also features an online registration system and will make use of QR code scanners to reduce paper-work and waiting times. Online registrations can be submitted using mobile or desktop devices at www.mynimo.com/happy
