Fun Launch with Lenovo Philippines

The Fun Launch with Lenovo Philippines happened last may 24, 2010 at Olio Restaurant, Crossroads, Cebu City. It was a FUN launch indeed together with some print, TV and online Media, half of which were bloggers from Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc. (CBSi). Lenovo Philippines announced several new products which mostly included notebooks and a few all-in-one computers.

Lenovo Philippines launched a new global campaign dubbed as “Make Life More Fun” last 24th of May, 2010 at Olio Bar and Restaurant, Banilad, Cebu City. The Fun Launch introduced their new range of idea brand of consumer PCs and notebooks: IdeaPad and IdeaCentre. The global campaign’s core message is based on connecting with spontaneous moments of fun experienced by Lenovo consumers.

These new models have fun features which include Veriface Facial Recognition Technology, Long Battery Life, You Cam, Direct Share, OneKey Theatre II, FingerPrint Reader, SlideNav, Lenovo Security Suite, and Switchable Graphics. Also, these products are powered by the new 2010 Intel Core Processor Family: Intel Core i7, i5 and i3.

IdeaCentre A300 ultra-thin all-in-one desktop – A stylish multimedia AIO. (This June 2010 @ Php47,900)

The A300 is not just similar to the Apple's iMac it almost looks like one with the exception that its running on Windows 7. It has a 21.5 inch FULL HD monitor and Intel Core 2 Duo processor and its main feature a all AIO Desktops boast, it saves a whole lot of space, which the only Wire that comes out of this thing is the power cable.

IdeaPad Z460 entertainment laptop – Affordable multimedia notebook. (June 2010 as well @ Php47,900)

This IdeaPad Z460 entertainment laptop is mostly targeted towards multimedia usage (No-duh). Some of the models in the Z series are using the latest Intel Core processors which are mainly the i3, i5 and i7 processors with Nvidia graphics.

IdeaPad U460 – An ultraportable laptop. (This July 2010 @ Php34,900)

This laptop is light and mainly used for travel purposes. It’s only an inch thick and weighs in at around 3.8 pounds. 3G connectivity can also be added (which means its optional but if you want one - well additional prices is expected). If I'm not mistaken, it was also mentioned that additional security features for USB ports is made available by Lenovo to enhance data security on their units.

Lenovo V460 – An IdeaPad laptop for small business. (@ Php38,000)

The V460 is mainly designed for business professionals and SMBs. This laptop boasts a fingerprint reader for additional security. Again it is using the latest Intel Core processors and this model will also feature a 1GB dedicated graphics card.

Lenovo B460 – And IdeaPad for small business and home office laptop. (June 2010 @ Php30,000)

The B460 is geared towards office and home users. Its equipped with an i5 processor and the latest NVIDIA GeForce 310M 512MB Graphics card. Moreover, RAM is supported up to 8GB. Well the specs is too much for home business use unless you're a freelance graphic artist but if not then you can use this for gaming at home most probably based from the given specs.

ThinkCentre A70z – An all-in-one desktop for business. (This end of May 2010 @ Php40,000)

The A70z is another AIO but for business, well in a small businessman's view this might be overpriced or even overpowered for clerical works and use, but this can be good for BPO's or Outsourcing firms since they require lots of tools to use and it saves some space on your desk as well.

ThinkPad Edge 14” laptop (End of May as well @ Php40,000)

The ThinkPad series with the latest Intel Processors and some tweaked features here and there. For those of you not familiar with Thinkpad, it is the only laptop available in the market which still have the "Track Ball" at the center of the keyboard but at the same time have a touch pad with clickers as well. The tweaked feature I was referring to was the Reversed-Function Keys. Basically to toggle buttons such as turning on Wireless or volume/Brightness buttons, you don't need to press 'Fn' or the Function key to make use of them, instead you now need to press Fn+F1 to use F1 to F12 keys now. That's a Simple but significant modification of the Keyboard function in which I have never seen on other laptops or brands.
