The New 2nd Generation of core i3, i5 and i7 processors has the following new and enhanced features that can be considered a milestone not just for intel but also for the industry:

• Revolutionary New microarchitecture - Intel has the new 32nm process technology with 2nd generation Hi-K Metal Gate transistors. This new feature vastly improves cores that are better connected with an innovative ring interconnect for improved data bandwidth, performance and power efficiency.

Interesting Facts on the 2nd generation performance:

• Content creation is 42% much faster and gaming up to 50% faster
• Close to a billion transistor count inside the 2nd Gen processor
• A 32nm transistor found in the new chips can switch on & off more than 300 Billion Times in 1 second. That would take a human 4,000 years to do the same with a light switch.
• If compared to the Core2Duo, the new chips are 831% faster
• For die hard gamers and overclockers - they have the Core i7 extreme which has no GHz lock
